    Jason is a thoughtful instructor who has studied tactics and shooting to distill the very best training techniques. He questions everything and pushes drills to the edge of performance. He combines movement with marksmanship to induce realistic stress.

    I took an instructor development class from Jason and was very impressed. He teaches a frame work to build drills that are grounded in reality.

Biography

Served in the U.S. Army from 1990-1994 in a light infantry / Scout unit.

Law enforcement officer with the Phoenix Police Dept. (AZ) since 1994. Currently a Sergeant in the Training Bureau…supervisor for the Rifle Training Detail…responsible for the quarterly training and qualification of 300+ rifle operators. Has obtained over 20+ law enforcement instructor certifications and is also a Firearms Subject Matter Expert (SME) for AZ POST.

Founder and owner of Pro-Active Training Institute from 1998-2016.

Founder and Executive Director of the National Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors Association (NLEFIA).

Experience

A certified law enforcement firearms instructor since 1997. Served as a full-time firearms and tactics instructor for 14 of his 22+ year law enforcement career. Has conducted firearms and tactical training for law-abiding citizens, corporate security, law enforcement personnel (from recruits to SWAT operators), and military personnel. Has conducted instructor-level training and certifications both nationally and internationally.
